Fan Made DINOSAURS Animated Video Now Online

Today we are thrilled and proud to present an incredible fan-made video based on Dinosaurs. The video was made by Davide Maugeri and his talented team of animators. Here's a brief blurb about the animated short from Davide himself...

Recently I've teamed up with some workmates to make a CG tribute to Jim Henson. A one and a half minute animated short featuring two characters from one of our favorite Jim Henson shows, Baby and Earl Sinclair from Dinosaurs. We'd like to stress that it is only meant as a homage and tribute to the genius of Jim Henson which made the series possible. Since this was a big hit in the early 90s and it ended up forgotten, our main goal is to bring these characters back to life and remind people they still exist, and they still can make us laugh like they used to

And without further ado, here it is: "I'm the Baby, Gotta Love Me" completely and expertly rendered in gorgeous CGI. Enjoy it, because it's almost impossible not to. I love it. I hope you do too.

The Muppet Mindset would like to thank Davide Maugeri and his team for choosing us to showcase this incredible video.

Dinosaus Animated Tribute Preview

A few months ago we spotlighted the early stages of the work on a computer animated short film based on the beloved 1990s Henson TV series Dinosaurs designed and produced by friend of the blog Davide Maugeri. Check out the first picture of the short, along with a brief description of Davide's work, below!
"Recently I've teamed up with some workmates to make a CG tribute to Jim Henson. Here is a sneak-peek picture that shows both the characters as they appear in their new CG look. The short should be complete by the holiday season (December)."

And now you can check out three exclusive screenshots from the short. They look spectacular and I'm so excited to see the finished product! The characters look great, the emotions on their faces are fantastic, and the inclusion of one of the classic "Hugga Wugga" creatures is awesome! Enjoy.
We'll keep you updated with the progress on this short as Davide provides updates! Thanks to Davide for sharing this with us. We hope you enjoy the screenshots!

"Jim and Frank" Short Film

Today I'm thrilled to share with you a wonderfully crafted, beautifully charming short film called Jim & Frank. The film was made by friend of the blog Tony Borden and focuses on the first meeting of Jim Henson and Frank Oz. I am a huge fan of this short piece and would love to see it turned into something longer... but the way it is, it is perfect and magnificent. Enjoy!

Muppet Fan Video Mashup from Jeff Yorkes

Greetings, Muppet fans! Today we have a really, really cool fan project for you. As most of you know, the main reason I started The Muppet Mindset was to showcase the work of great Muppet fans. And today's post is a prime example of great Muppet fan work. The other day I got an email from Jeff Yorkes, a huge Muppet fan who works as a freelance film and trailer editor. Which obviously shows in his CINEMASHUP projects, including his mashup of The Muppet Movie and Metallica's "Master of Puppets."

Jeff had this to say to introduce his awesome video:

"I'm a freelance film and trailer editor. When work gets kinda slow--or I just get bored--I make (what I call) CINEMASHUPS, where I recut movies to songs you never knew were totally about that film. As a life-long Muppet fan, this one was a no-brainer. This one's a CINEMINI, as I cut down the full version of the song (at over eight minutes) to a brisk minute and a half! If you enjoy it, check out some of my other ones at jeffyorkes.com or on vimeo at http://vimeo.com/user3544174/videos."

Thanks so much to Jeff Yorkes for sending us this awesome video! Great job, Jeff! We hope to see more great videos from you soon!

Zoot Gets Animated

Greetings, Muppet fans! I'm really, really excited about our post today because I get to debut an incredible piece of fan-made video work. No, it's not another shoddy YouTube video by yours truly, it's an amazing 3D animated rendering of the classic skit from The Muppet Show, "Sax and Violence." Now, the original starred Zoot and Mahna Mahna, but this remake by Muppet fan and artist Andreas Qassim stars Zoot and a very funny 3D figure designed by Andreas himself. Check it out! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Triangle vs Saxophone from Andreas Qassim on Vimeo.

Wasn't that awesome? Andreas should be incredibly proud of this piece of work! It's wonderful!

I also promised Andreas I'd show off this wonderful comic he drew featuring Kermit, Fozzie, and super famous Norwegian comic book teddy bear Bamse wishing Donald Duck a happy 75th Birthday. I gotta say, the duck looks much better on TV.

Do I get the joke? Nope. Is the artwork awesome? Heck yes! GREAT job, Andreas! Thanks for the contribution!
