As everybody reading certainly knows, Muppets Most Wanted opens in 3,000 theaters across the United States and Canada starting tomorrow! After months and months of waiting, Muppet fans will finally get to see Kermit, Miss Piggy, Constantine, and the whole Muppet gang dominate the big screen again.

I'm sure that most of you are going to see the film as soon as you possibly can, but if you can't decide if you should see it opening weekend or not, allow me, Matt Vogel, and Peter Linz to provide you some incentive. Details below:
SEE MUPPETS MOST WANTED OPENING WEEKEND AND SUBMIT YOUR TICKET STUBS FOR A CHANCE TO WIN PRIZES SIGNED BY MATT VOGEL AND/OR PETER LINZ!

If you see Muppets Most Wanted on Thursday, March 20, Friday, March 21, Saturday, March 22, or Sunday, March 23, submit photographic proof of your ticket stubs to muppetmindset@gmail.com for a chance to win a prize signed by Muppet performers Matt Vogel (Constantine) and Peter Linz (Walter). Winners will be chosen at random by Ryan Dosier and announced on Monday, March 24th via Facebook and Twitter. Only one entry will be counted per person. Huge, huge, heartfelt thanks to my incredible friends Matt Vogel and Peter Linz for their help with this--and a hundred other things.

Calling All Artists! Design for Fraggle Rock!

Greetings, Muppet fans! We're reaching out to YOU with a very exciting opportunity from our friends at The Jim Henson Company. We mentioned this contest on the site a few weeks ago, but we don't feel like we gave it the spotlight it deserves. The Jim Henson Company is hosting an art competition asking any and all artists to submit their design artwork based on Fraggle Rock! The prizes are multiple and incredibly awesome and the exposure it will bring you as an artist will be even more great. Check out the official press release below...

Since Fraggle Rock's creation in 1983 it has been seen in 80 countries and watched in a least ten different languages and, to this day, continues to enjoy a loyal international following. In celebration of Fraggle Rock's 30th anniversary, The Jim Henson Company is inviting artists to submit artwork* inspired by the world of Fraggle Rock and it's characters including the Fraggles, The Doozers, Sprocket, Traveling Matt and the Gorgs. One winner will have their artwork featured and produced on select merchandise items for Fraggle Rock's 30th anniversary, in addition to receiving a private tour of the Jim Henson design studios, followed by invitation to Fraggle Rock's 30th Anniversary party in Los Angeles.

*Artwork may consist of photographs, paintings, illustrations, drawings, graphic design or collages. Artists may also create 3D pieces but must submit high-res photographs of those creations.

The Muppets T-Shirt Challenge

Threadless.com, known for their fun and funny t-shirt designs submitted by people like you and me (well... not me, I'm not artistically inclined) which get voted on by people online, has teamed up with Disney and The Muppets to bring us The Muppets T-shirt Design Challenge. The project is simple: design a t-shirt with the Muppets on it, celebrating the theme of friendship. Every design will be voted on, and the winning t-shirt will actually be made and sold online. Do you need it to be more awesome? Okay, fine... the winning designer of the t-shirt will also win $2,500 cash, a $250 Threadless gift card, the winning shirt signed by the Muppets and framed alongside a picture of the Muppets, a set of Jim Shore's Muppet Statues valued at $250, and, finally, a signed copy of the (apparently) upcoming album MUPPETS: The Green Album.

You can find all the details and more (including some pretty awesome Muppet pictures) on the main website for the Challenge.

There is so much to be excited about because of this contest... first off, Disney is very obviously directly including Muppet fans in its promotion for the upcoming movie, which is absolutely fantastic. Second, MUPPETS: The Green Album? What the what? We haven't heard anything about this... unless, of course, they just renamed the Muppets: Revisited CD idea they've been throwing around since the first D23 Expo. Either way... very exciting and I would do just about anything for a signed copy of it! And, to cap it all, we finally get to see the awesome group shot of the Muppets in all its glory!

The prizes are massive, the exposure is huge, and for any talented artist who wants to show of his or her take on the Muppets on a t-shirt, Threadless.com's Muppets T-shirt Design Challenge is absolutely something that you should submit a design to! (I'm looking at you, Dave Hulteen, Stuart Reeves, and all you other super talented fan artists!) Start submitting today! We want to see a Mindset reader/contributor take the big prize!
