Disney has been fast and loose in releasing previews of the Muppets Most Wanted Blu-ray Bonus Features. Last week, we got previews of Ricky Gervais' bloopers and Rizzo's letter to the filmmakers. This week, we get to see the entirety of the Statler and Waldorf Cut of the film. Check it out below!

According to sources, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie is being released on Blu-ray on October 7th. The release is already available for pre-order on Amazon, but no details about bonus features, other than general "deleted scenes" and "bloopers." Presumably, these features will be exactly the same as the DVD release of the TV movie from a few years ago. It should also be noted that this release comes from NBC-Universal, not Disney, since NBC-U owns the rights to the TV movie.
This week, an enterprising Muppet fan, whose daughter is too young to go to San Diego Comic Con decided to bring Comic Con to her, by creating and performing his own panel featuring Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear. Disney Videos Online has released a special Disney Channel segment featuring Kermit and Constantine. The segment, "10 in 60" challenges the two frogs to answer ten questions in 60 seconds or less. Check out the video below!
Disney has announced an upcoming new web series starring the Muppets. "Disney Drive-On with The Muppets" stars Walter and Pepe as they work on the Disney Studios lot. Apparently, six episodes of the series will be released very soon. According to our friend Peter Linz, these segments were filmed nearly two years ago, so it's fantastic that they've finally been released. The first full episode has been released and you can watch it right here, right now! UPDATE: The second episode can be watched on Disney Movies Anywhere!
We're just over two weeks from being able to buy The Muppets on Disney Blu-ray and DVD here in the United States, and all sorts of websites are already previewing some of the incredible bonus features included on the release. Awhile back we showcased the preview on Amazon.com, which included bloopers, a deleted scene, and more. We in the United States are less than one month away from the release of The Muppets on Disney Blu-ray and DVD! On March 20th we will be able to bring home the Muppets like never before: on Disney Blu-ray. Say what you will about Disney itself or the Blu-ray idea as a whole, but Disney sure as shoot knows how to produce a quality product when they put their films on this format. A while back we previewed the bonus features of the upcoming release, and now, thanks to Amazon.com (and our friend and frequent contributor Justin Piatt who alerted us), we can now see some exclusive content from the forthcoming release!
The deleted scene features Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker as they present their newest invention--one that Gonzo is quite embarrassed about and Gary is quite relieved about. This scene was seen in pieces throughout the trailers for the movie... and it doesn't actually look like the complete seen here, but what is here is fantastic! Also note that it looks like the part where the bowling ball is chasing Beaker was retooled in the final film as a vacuum cleaner chasing Beaker. So intriguing to see that an entire subplot like this got cut. You can see the Deleted Scene right here!
Less than a minute's worth of bloopers are available for watching right now (and considering this Blu-ray will contain the longest Muppet blooper reel ever, we can assume it's only a small portion) on the same page. Here we get to see Kermit and Piggy, Fozzie and Kermit, Gary and Mary, and more as they flub up their takes. I seriously can NOT wait to see more of these!
The final video seems to be pulled from the 15 minute making-of feature on the Blu-ray called "Scratching The Surface: A Hasty Examination of the Making of The Muppets." I think this is my favorite video on here... Floyd is there and awesome, so how could it not be? These bonus features are already so tantalizing and awesome that it makes March 20th feel like an eternity away...
So there you have it! Just a small taste of what we'll be seeing come March 20th when The Muppets hits Blu-ray and DVD!

Sesame Street is preparing to release a new DVD called "Best of Sesame Friends," which will feature the best clips from the most famous characters on the Street: Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie, Abby Cadabby, Grover, Telly Monster, Snuffy, The Count, Zoe, and Rosita. The best part? YOU get to help choose the clips! That's right, you can now vote for your favorite clips for each character via Facebook! Voting ends on February 1st, so get in there and vote now! The DVD is set to hit stores in Fall 2012.
As we reported on Tuesday, The Muppets received an Academy Award nomination for "Man or Muppet" for Best Original Song! Well, music and lyric writer Bret McKenzie talked with MTV News about the nomination and his, as he called it, "surprise nomination." He even hints slightly at how he would like to see the song performed at the Oscars ceremony. (With a man and a Muppet... go figure.)

Our good friend at ToughPigs.com have discovered another preview of Bloopers from The Muppetsvia Entertainment Tonight. The bloopers show off 80's Robot testing his driving skills, Muppet Gary (who sounds an awful lot like Johnny Fiama) visiting human Gary and Walter, and much more. Remember, this is just a small sampling of what we'll be seeing, blooper-wise, when The Muppets hits Blu-ray and DVD on March 20th!
Last week Miss Piggy appeared as a guest judge on Project Runway All Starson Lifetime and the All Stars had to create a cocktail dress for our favorite porcine diva. I won't lie to you, I haven't had time to sit down and watch the whole thing yet, but I've heard that le Pig was phenomenal (as she usually is) and proved herself a very worthy judge. You can catch the entire video of Piggy's appearance on the show thanks to Lifetime's website!
We would also like to send our love to Kermit, Miss Piggy, and James Bobin who are currently in the United Kingdom for the British premiere of The Muppets! The first, unfortunately short, blooper reel from The Muppets and promotional interviews has surfaced via ABC Family. I'm not sure if these bloopers actually aired on the channel, or if they're online exclusives, but they are a great way of whetting our appetite in wanting to see more. It doesn't get better than Muppet bloopers, so get ready to enjoy some pure awesome below! (And when was the last time we saw Floyd in a blooper?!)
