With the fun and success of
The Muppets, Muppet fans are starting to come out of the shadows and take the spotlight with their incredible talents. Among these great talents is, of course, fan art. Muppet fan artists are some of my favorite people and they are really working hard to showcase their fandom and talent nowadays. For instance, the
Gallery Nucleus blog is displaying an entire collection of Jim Henson tribute artwork called "The Lovers, the Dreams, and Me." The gallery is not only on display online, but also in-person in
Alhambra, CA, featuring over 30 artists paying homage to the great visionary. The show opens on December 10th from 7 to 11 PM. Admission is free and they will be serving free refreshments as well hosting a raffle contest for some Henson related goods. So, if you're in the Alhambra area, you should absolutely check it out! But, if you're not, you should check out just a few of the great pieces below!

But the Muppet art blog fun isn't just limited to the United States. Our friends Andreas Qassim (who we've
spotlighted before) and Hans Jorgen Sandnes have started a blog that exclusively spotlights the artwork of Scandanavian Muppet fans! They've only been running for a few days, but already the art is phenomenal. Check out just a few of the great pieces below, and be sure to visit
The Scandinavian Muppet Art Blog for even more!

And, finally, it's not part of a blog but it's too incredible not to share... this piece, called "Life's a Happy Song" is by Sandra Rivas (
*happydoodle on DeviantArt) and features Gary and Walter just being awesome. Look at it, love it, and... yeah!
It's nice to know that many of the artists create works of art of The Muppets. I also recently saw the movie, reminds me of my childhood :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough my two favorite Muppet movies are Muppet's Christmas Carol and Muppet's Treasure Island, I really enjoyed the classic Muppet's adventures in this movie and the actors were very funny. Take the next generation of Muppet fans to this movie and watch how you're kids see why the Muppet Show was all our generations favorite!
